About AfriWay
AfriWay is a free directory of opportunities for people from Africa: scholarships, grants, fellowships, paid internships, competitions, funded conferences, accelerators and free training programmes. Every listing can be read without an account, without a subscription and without paying anything.
Who the site is for
We built AfriWay for African students looking for a funded degree, researchers looking for a fellowship or a travel grant, founders looking for an accelerator or a seed competition, and non-profit teams looking for institutional funding or free capacity-building. The site is published in English, French, Arabic, Portuguese and Swahili so that a reader in Lagos, Dakar, Cairo, Luanda or Nairobi finds the same facts in a language they read comfortably.
What the site does
- Collects opportunities that are open to applicants from African countries and presents them in one place.
- Extracts the facts that matter, such as eligibility, benefits, deadline, application steps and the official link, from the official programme page only.
- Re-checks every open listing against its official page every 7 days and shows the date of the last verification.
- Marks listings that close within 14 days, keeps closed listings online with the next expected cycle, and points readers to alternatives that are still open.
- Publishes guides written from the site's own database of listings and offers small AI helpers such as an eligibility check and a motivation-letter draft.
What the site does not do
- We are not agents and we do not represent any funder, university or programme.
- We do not submit applications, write applications for a fee or offer any kind of application service.
- We do not sell listings. No organisation can pay to appear on AfriWay or to rank higher.
- We do not collect application documents, and we never ask for money at any step.
The only place to apply is the official page of the programme, and every listing links to it.
How the site is funded
AfriWay is currently unfunded and is maintained as an independent project. If advertising or affiliate links are introduced in the future, they will be clearly labelled as such and will never influence which opportunities are listed or how they are described.
