Corrections
AfriWay publishes thousands of facts extracted from official pages, and some of them will be wrong: a page changes after our last check, a date is misread, an eligibility rule is ambiguous. This page explains how errors are reported, fixed and recorded.
How to report an error
Write to . To let us act quickly, include:
- the URL of the listing or guide on AfriWay;
- what exactly is wrong, for example the deadline, the eligible countries or the amount of the award;
- a link to the official source that shows the correct information.
You do not need an account, and we do not ask for anything else. Reports that point to the official page are handled first, because they can be verified immediately.
What happens after a report
- We open the official page of the programme and compare it with the listing.
- If the official page confirms the error, the fact is corrected and the listing is re-verified in full, not only the reported field.
- The listing displays the new verification date and the host it was verified against.
- If the official page contradicts the report, the listing is left unchanged and we reply explaining why.
Corrections are normally applied within a few days. Deadline corrections are treated as urgent.
What we correct
- Wrong or outdated deadlines, including extensions.
- Wrong eligibility, such as countries, age limits, degree levels or nationality rules.
- Wrong benefits, amounts or durations.
- Broken or wrong official links.
- Any text that misrepresents an organisation or a person.
What we do not change
We do not change a listing on the basis of a rumour, a social-media post or a claim that cannot be checked against the official page. If the official page is itself ambiguous, we describe the ambiguity rather than pick one reading.
Record of material errors
Minor fixes such as typos or formatting are corrected silently. Material errors, which means errors that could have led a reader to miss a deadline or apply to a programme they were not eligible for, are noted on this page with the date and a short description of what was wrong and what was changed.
Errors in guides
Guides are written from the site's database and cite official sources. When a fact in a guide is corrected, the guide shows the date of the update. A guide that can no longer be supported by current listings is withdrawn.
