AfriWay

Privacy policy

This page describes what AfriWay collects about its readers, why, for how long, and what it does not collect. The short version: the site works without accounts, it does not sell data, and the little it stores is kept for a limited time.

No accounts

You do not need to register to read listings, guides or use the AI tools. We do not ask for your name, your email address, your phone number or any document. Nothing you type into the AI tools is linked to an identity.

Server logs

Like every website, our servers record technical logs: the address of the page requested, the time, the IP address and the browser type. These logs are used to keep the site running, to detect abuse and to fix errors. They are kept for 30 days and then deleted.

Analytics

The site may use Yandex Metrika to understand which pages are read and how the site is used. It is loaded only if enabled by the publisher. When enabled, it sets cookies and records anonymised interaction data such as pages viewed, scrolling and clicks. Typed text is not recorded. This data is used only to improve the site.

AI tools

The eligibility check and the motivation-letter draft work on what you type plus the official facts of the listing. To enforce a daily limit per reader, we store a hashed version of your IP address and a random identifier placed in a cookie. Both are kept for 90 days and then deleted. We do not store your text after the response has been generated, and we do not use it to build a profile.

What we do not do

Every listing links to the official page of the programme. Those websites have their own privacy policies, and we have no control over what they collect.

Your rights

You can ask what data we hold that relates to your IP address or cookie identifier, and you can ask for it to be deleted. Because we do not hold identities, we may not be able to link a request to specific records. Clearing your browser cookies removes the AI tool identifier immediately.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with the date of the change.
