Internet Society Fellowship Program 2027: USD 5,000 Project Stipend

The Internet Society Fellowship Program 2027 is a 10-month programme for professionals who want to run a practical project in Internet policy or technology. It is followed remotely, and the Internet Society plans to select 90 fellows for this cycle.

Who can apply

The fellowship is open to all nationalities. It is aimed at professionals, and the fields listed for it are public policy and governance, and computer science and IT. You need a high level of reading, speaking and writing skills in English.

What it offers

Selected fellows can receive a project stipend of up to USD 5,000, paid once their project budget has been submitted and approved. Fellows also get travel support to attend a global or regional Internet event, such as IGF, AfPIF or the NDSS Symposium.

Deadline

The date that matters most is 22 November 2026. By then you must have enrolled in and completed all required Pre-Fellowship Training modules; enrolment opened on 23 September 2026. The link to the fellowship application form is sent only after you finish the training, and that form closes later in December.

Before you apply

Enrol soon rather than close to the cutoff, so you have enough time to work through every module. Use the training period to shape a concrete project idea and a realistic budget, because the stipend is paid only when the budget is approved.
