Master's and doctoral scholarships at Czech public universities for citizens of Ethiopia, Gabon, Mauritania and Zambia. Applications close on 30 September 2026.
Who is eligible?
For the 2027/2028 academic year the Czech Republic offers these development-cooperation scholarships only to citizens of a short list of countries. On the African side that means Ethiopia, Gabon, Mauritania and Zambia. Citizens of Czechia, citizens of other EU states and anyone with permanent residence in Czechia cannot apply.
Which programmes are covered?
Applicants from the eligible countries can apply for selected two-year follow-up Master's programmes and three- to four-year doctoral programmes taught in English at public universities in Czechia. A completed bachelor's degree is required for Master's study and a completed Master's degree for doctoral study.
Is IELTS required?
No test certificate is requested. Instead, every applicant for English-medium study sits an online entrance English test during the application, together with a general study prerequisites test and a motivation letter.

The application period runs from 21 August 2026 to 30 September 2026. Each applicant may register once and submit a single electronic application through the portal linked on the official page, where the binding guidelines and FAQ are published.
