TU Delft Justus & Louise van Effen Excellence Scholarships 2026/2027

The Justus and Louise van Effen Excellence Scholarships are TU Delft's own awards for outstanding international Masters applicants. They are not tied to a single faculty: any of the university's MSc programmes can be the destination, which makes this one of the broader fully funded routes into engineering and technology study in the Netherlands.

Who can apply

The scholarship is open to applicants of all nationalities at Masters level, in any field TU Delft teaches. There is no separate application form for a shortlist of countries and no home-country nomination step. What the award is really selecting for is academic excellence, so the strength of the degree transcript and the fit between a candidate's background and the chosen MSc carry most of the weight.

What the award covers

The scholarship covers full tuition fees for a TU Delft MSc programme, charged at either the statutory fee or the institutional rate depending on the registered nationality, and adds a contribution towards living expenses. It runs for the full twenty-four months of a two-year Masters, so a successful candidate is funded for the whole degree rather than a first year only.

Deadline and how to apply

Applications close on 1 December 2026 at 23:59 CET. Candidates apply to the MSc programme itself first: admission to a TU Delft Masters is the precondition, and the scholarship is decided on top of it. That sequencing matters, because the programme application has its own documents and its own processing time, and leaving it until the scholarship deadline is the most common way applicants lose the chance.
