Equality Fund Global Journalism Fellowship 2026: CAD 4,000 Stipend

The Equality Fund Global Journalism Fellowship 2026 is a paid, remote fellowship from the Equality Fund for working journalists in developing countries. Five fellows will be selected for a six-month programme.

Who can apply

The fellowship is aimed at professional journalists based in developing countries. You need at least three years of journalism experience. Fluent English is required, because English is the working language of the Equality Fund. As the programme is remote, fellows do not need to move abroad to take part.

What it offers

Each fellow receives a stipend of CAD 4,000 in total. The fund also covers up to $500 in reporting expenses. With only five places on offer, expect strong competition.

Deadline

Applications close on 8 November 2026 at midnight, Eastern Standard Time. Work out what that means in your own time zone and aim to submit a day or two early.
