I Tatti Digital Humanities Fellowship: six months in Florence with USD 5,200 a month 2026/2027

What does the fellowship offer?

I Tatti awards 2 fellowships in the digital humanities for a period of 6 months. Each fellow receives a grant of USD 5,200 per month plus a one-time supplement of up to USD 1,800 towards relocation expenses, and works in residence at the center outside Florence, Italy.

Who can apply?

The fellowship is open to applicants of any nationality at doctoral or master's level whose project uses digital methods in the humanities or social sciences and connects with I Tatti's field, the Italian Renaissance. Scholars may apply for only one I Tatti fellowship per year.

What does the application involve?

Applications are submitted electronically through the online system linked from the official page. Prepare a project description that explains the digital methods you will use, the data or sources involved and the outputs you expect during the residency.

When is the deadline?

Applications must be submitted electronically by midnight (Cambridge, MA time) on 16 November 2026. Recommendation letters follow a separate date set out on the official page, so ask your referees early.
