What does the Wallace Fellowship offer?

I Tatti awards 4 Wallace Fellowships for scholars who explore the historiography and impact of the Italian Renaissance in the modern era. The grant is USD 5,200 per month plus a one-time supplement of up to USD 1,800 towards relocation. When possible an apartment is set aside for the fellow rent free, with utilities charged separately; otherwise a housing subsidy helps offset rental costs.

Who can apply?

Postdoctoral scholars of any nationality and any discipline can apply. Applicants must be conversant in English and have familiarity with Italian, because the fellowship is residential: fellows live in the Florence area and spend at least three days a week at the center.
