A CORDAP grant of up to USD 1,000,000 for international teams researching coral reef conservation and restoration, open to applicants from any country.
CORDAP, the G20 Coral Research & Development Accelerator Platform, is inviting proposals for its Coral Accelerator Program (CAP) 2026. The call funds international collaborative teams with ideas that advance coral reef conservation and restoration, spanning novel early-phase projects through to final proof-of-concept development and testing.
Applicants can be based in any country, and the programme is built around international teams rather than solo applicants, reflecting CORDAP's transdisciplinary approach to saving tropical coral reefs and cold-water corals. Successful applicants are awarded funding of up to USD 1,000,000 per project, with each funded project running for at least 12 months.
Applications opened on 1 September 2026. The deadline for concept note submissions is 19 October 2026, at 18:00 UTC, and only complete submissions received by that time will be considered. Teams whose concept notes are successful will be invited to submit a full proposal at a later stage.
CORDAP brings together G20 members and partners to close the gap between current capabilities and the research, development and innovation needed to protect the world's coral reefs, which face escalating pressure from warming oceans and repeated bleaching events.
