A grant of up to BRL 2,500,000 from FAPESP in Brazil for postdoctoral researchers of any nationality in the natural sciences, funding a 60-month research project. Applications close 19 November 2026.
FAPESP is offering a Young Investigator Grant for International Researchers, a research grant open to postdoctoral researchers of any nationality who want to build a research career in Brazil. The call covers work in the natural sciences and gives outstanding investigators the chance to lead their own project at a host institution in the country.
Each funded project runs for 60 months, and FAPESP expects to fund up to 20 fellowships through this call. The maximum funding available per proposal is BRL 2,500,000.00 (two million five hundred thousand Brazilian reais), intended to cover the full 60-month duration of the project.
Research proposals for this call must be written and submitted in English, regardless of the applicant's own first language. Because the grant is hosted in Brazil, successful applicants relocate to a research institution in the country to carry out their project over the full 60 months of funding.
Applications for the FAPESP Young Investigator Grant for International Researchers must be submitted by 19 November 2026, with full proposals reviewed after that date.
