NASA Hubble Fellowship Program 2027 for Postdocs in the United States

The NASA Hubble Fellowship Program (NHFP) 2027, offered by the Space Telescope Science Institute, funds postdoctoral research in the natural sciences. Fellows work at a host institution in the United States, and there are 24 fellowships in this round. Each fellowship runs for 36 months.

Who can apply

The NHFP is open to English-speaking applicants of any nationality. Researchers from African countries can therefore apply on the same terms as applicants from anywhere else. The award is for researchers at the postdoctoral level, and the work is done in person at the host institution, not remotely.

What the fellowship offers

According to the programme, the initial annual salary or stipend for a fellow is comparable to that of other prize fellowships and is subject to annual review and adjustment. Fellows also receive support for health insurance, relocation costs, travel, computing services, publications and other direct research costs.

Applications opened on 8 September 2026. They are due on 28 October 2026 at 19:00 New York time, which is 7:00 PM EDT or 23:00 UTC.
