Scholarships, grants and fellowships for Tunisian applicants 2027

This guide covers 25 open calls that accept applicants from Tunisia, with deadlines between 5 and 31 October 2026. Two name Tunisia on their country list. Three accept every African country, and four carry AfriWay's fully funded label. Calls limited to Sub-Saharan Africa do not include Tunisia, so none of them appears here.

What Tunisians can apply for before 31 October

ARC-GSSP Postgraduate Scholarships for African Students (closed), African Climate Collaborative PhD Fellowships 2027 at UCT (closed) and Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at UCT 2027 for Postgraduates accept every African country, and three German master's programmes are aimed at developing countries. The other 17 accept every nationality, which means a worldwide pool of applicants.

Postdocs. NASA Hubble Fellowship Program 2027 for Postdocs in the United States funds 24 fellows for 36 months at a salary comparable to other prize fellowships, with support for health insurance, relocation, travel, computing, publications and other research costs. Professionals. Chevening OCIS Fellowship 2027 at Oxford for Professionals (closed) offers six fellowships of five months at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies, with living expenses, a return economy airfare and an allowance for research activities. It asks for at least five years of experience. Software Sustainability Institute Fellowship Programme 2027 (closed) gives professionals in computer science and IT 15 months in the United Kingdom. Leading for Humanity 2027: Tutu Foundation Leadership Programme (closed) is held in South Africa.

Research grants. IFRA-Nigeria Research Grants 2027 for Humanities and Social Sciences pays up to EUR 1,000 per project, depending on its nature and budget, to master's students, PhD candidates, postdocs and professionals in the humanities and social sciences. OpenAI AI and Teen Development Research Grant Program 2026 (closed) makes individual grants of up to USD 1 million to postdocs and professionals, and Digital Science Catalyst Grant 2026 for AI tools that act on research (closed) offers up to GBP 25,000 that may be split between recipients.

Undergraduates and the arts. The Image Centre Research Fellowships 2027 in Toronto for photography research (closed) is the only call here that admits undergraduates, with six places open to every level up to postdoc. At Smithsonian Institution Fellowship Program 2027 in the United States (closed), graduate students and postdocs receive between USD 45,000 and USD 65,000 a year, set by fellowship category.

Fully funded options in deadline order

To be marked fully funded on AfriWay, a scholarship or fellowship has to pay tuition and a living stipend. Four calls qualify, one of which names Tunisia.

Noon in Tunis on 6 October 2026, or 11:00 UTC, is the closing time for Chevening Scholarships 2027/28: One-Year UK Master's (closed). Tunisia is on its list, the subject is open, and the award pays tuition with a living stipend for a one-year master's in the United Kingdom. Applicants need two or more years of work experience.

The same evening, Knight-Hennessy Scholars 2027: Fully Funded Graduate Study at Stanford (closed) closes at 21:00 Tunis time. It pays for up to three years of graduate study at Stanford, including tuition and associated fees, a stipend for living and academic expenses, and one economy-class round trip each year.

Just after midnight in Tunis, at 00:59 on 8 October, ARC-GSSP Postgraduate Scholarships for African Students (closed) closes. Its awards take postgraduate students in mathematics, engineering or environment and climate to South Africa, Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal or Ghana for up to two years, with full tuition, a living stipend and travel support.

Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at UCT 2027 for Postgraduates has the latest deadline in this guide, 31 October. It applies to an honours degree, a master's programme or an eligible postgraduate diploma in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Cape Town. The package covers tuition fees, a laptop, accommodation on campus, living expenses, medical aid, a study visa where applicable and annual travel to and from the university.

Chevening OCIS Fellowship 2027 at Oxford for Professionals (closed) comes close without the label. It pays living expenses and a return airfare, but it funds five months of research, not a degree.

Calls open to all of Africa or to developing countries

Three calls accept every African country, and two of them come from the University of Cape Town. Besides Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at UCT 2027 for Postgraduates, the university runs African Climate Collaborative PhD Fellowships 2027 at UCT (closed), which offers 12 PhD fellowships of 48 months in environment, climate and social science. ARC-GSSP Postgraduate Scholarships for African Students (closed) is the third.

Three master's programmes in Germany carry DAAD EPOS scholarships for developing countries: ISATEC (MSc Marine Biology), University of Bremen: DAAD EPOS 2027 (closed), Sustainable Renewable Energy Technologies MSc, Oldenburg: EPOS 2027 (closed) and International Health MSc, Charité Berlin: DAAD EPOS Scholarship 2027 (closed). Their listings do not say which countries count as developing. Before you invest in an application, confirm on each official page that Tunisia is on the list the programme uses. All three ask for at least two years of experience. The Oldenburg course runs for 24 months and sets its deadline a year before entry, and the Charité course leads to admission in September 2027.

The two named lists differ sharply in size. Chevening Scholarships 2027/28: One-Year UK Master's (closed) covers dozens of countries. Chevening OCIS Fellowship 2027 at Oxford for Professionals (closed) covers only ten: Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Sudan, Nigeria, Senegal, Malaysia and Türkiye.

Deadlines closest first, in Tunis time

Tunisia stays on Central European Time (CET), one hour ahead of UTC, with no summer time. The UK and European deadlines below all fall before Europe turns its clocks back, so Tunis matches UK summer time and runs one hour behind Central European Summer Time. West Africa Time is the same as Tunis time, and American deadlines fall in the Tunis evening or the next morning.
